Newly Completed Oil Painting Commission by Pat Cross, now displayed in the Miami retreat of the collector. In this oil painting titled Heavenly Westward View, a cedar waxwing bird perches high to spectate the sky ablaze with color. As the sun travels towards the horizon, it illuminates the Appalachian valley below. The valley view depicts that of the collector’s future homesite for their upcoming residence in West Virginia.

Into this exhibit of Tamarack's 16th Annual Best of West Virginia, jurors selected two artworks by Pat Cross, both original oil paintings, each telling a visual story of people interacting with the outdoors, including her oil paintings titled, She Leads, and Praiseworthy.
