Jurors Select Pat Cross Art into The River Biennial Exhibit

At the Parkersburg Art Center June 23 – July 27, 2024

Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony on Sunday, June 23 from 1:00 -3:00 p.m.

In this biennial exhibit, works by 47 West Virginia and Ohio professional artists make up this show designed to showcase some of the best art from both states. Artworks include original paintings, drawings, ceramics, photography and sculpture.

Into this show, jurors selected an expansive waterscape by Pat Cross titled River Willow Reflections, a custom framed oil painting. “I painted this from the view of a canoe resting to admire the reflections of the river willows that beautifully frame the homestead at the base of rolling hills,” says Pat Cross.

The River was chosen as the exhibit name to reflect the liquid highway connecting our two states, but it is also an exemplar for the variety, depth and breadth of the creative talent in our states,” tells Abby Hayhurst, Artistic Director at the Parkersburg Art Center.
