Newly Completed Oil Painting Commission by Pat Cross

Now displayed in the Miami retreat of the collector.

In this oil painting titled Heavenly Westward View, a cedar waxwing bird perches high to spectate the sky ablaze with color. As the sun travels towards the horizon, it illuminates the Appalachian valley below. The valley view depicts that of the collector’s future homesite for their upcoming residence in West Virginia.

The couple desired an oil painting of that valley view to enjoy in their Miami retreat, only with the vivid colors of a wildly vibrant western sky.

The couple who commissioned Pat Cross for this custom project sought her richly saturated hues, expressive brushstrokes and lifelike representations of her subject.
