Now Available! Casting on the Current is a 24" x 48" original oil painting by Pat Cross.
On a remote section of a mountain stream, a fisherman perches like a heron on a rock, a strategic position a bit closer to his prey. He casts his line to a specific place on the current with the aim of reaching his target. The autumn sun sets the forest trees ablaze with anticipation for what happens next.
In this painting, the artist layered glazes of oil paint to add luminescence to the colors. Some areas are carefully blended while others are applied with a painting knife to set in contrast the rich texture.
In each of the two 24" x 24" paintings that make up this diptych, the image flows around the 1.5" deep edge of the gallery wrap canvas, adding more dimension to the piece. Each of the two paintings are wired and ready to hang. All materials in this oil painting are of archival quality for lasting impressions.
One of a series of award-winning landscape paintings of the North American landscape by Pat Cross.
