Pat Cross Invited to Jury and Judge National Fine Art Exhibit
VRMC Art Exhibition Director David Shombert received a peer recommendation for Pat Cross as Juror and Judge, along with two other fine artists, sculptor Luc Fiedler and photographer Joseph Hyde. This trio of artists reviewed 435 artworks from 157 artists residing in 22 states, plus Washington D.C with the aim of selecting the “cream” of the lot to be admitted into the exhibition.
To judge the top awards, each of the three jurors then traveled to the exhibition. “There’s no substitute for viewing the actual physical artworks to truly evaluate their merits,” says Pat Cross.
Celebrating 20 years of exhibition excellence, the VMRC show attracts artists across the nation working in the visual disciplines of drawing, painting, and sculpture in a wide variety of mediums including graphite, oil paint, watercolor, glass, clay, textiles, bronze, wood and more.
With over 7,000 square feet of display area, visitors comment on the ambiance of the Park Gables Gallery where each artwork is generously spaced and illuminated with arched windows and strategic lighting. Historically, up to 30% of the displayed artworks sell, reaching both regular and new collectors.
The exhibition runs through Tuesday, June 27, 2023 and is open to the viewing public.
