Pat Cross Art Juried into the 74th AAWV Juried Exhibit

at the Parkersburg Art Center

You are invited! The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony launches at 5 PM on Friday, September 18th with the exhibit continuing through October 30, 2026. Bring your friends and family to view the show at the Parkersburg Art Center located at 725 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

Artists competing for entry into this show reside in the mountain state, and many are members of Allied Artists of West Virginia (AAWV), some for several decades, since the group was established in 1930. The President of AAWV, Linda Stonestreet, selected the Juror for this show Jolene Powell, who holds an MFA from Boston University and who responded, “As a West Virginia native, I’ve always been aware of the long and well-established history of Allied Artists of West Virginia, so serving as your juror fulfills a lifelong goal.” 

The artworks by Pat Cross juried into this show are each custom-framed oil paintings, one titled Artistry and the other, Appalachian Angling. “Both of these oil paintings tell of two of my favorite subjects to paint,” says Pat Cross, “the human form, and the exquisite beauty I see when outdoors.” This exhibit also serves as an art peer reunion for many of the artists who travel from every corner of the state to the Opening Reception.

This biennial juried show earns the respect and status that encourages sponsors to contribute towards the exhibit expenses such as the professionally produced catalogue, catered refreshments, juror fee, gallery space, and generous art awards. Sponsors include City National Bank, Dick Blick Art Materials, Babst Calland Attorneys at Law, PACE Foundation, The Garage Event Space, and Broughton Adventures, BRI Mechanical and Burdette Realty.
