Pat Cross Art Juried into the 17th Annual Best of West Virginia Fine Art Exhibit
From May 30 – July 19, 2025 at Tamarack Marketplace
This annual competition exhibit showcases the best of West Virginia artists in every imaginable medium from blown glass, carved wood and fired clay, to metal sculpture, painting and textiles, plus many more.
Into this exhibit, jurors selected two artworks by Pat Cross, both original oil paintings from her floral series and that of people engaging the outdoors. “This exhibit coincides with West Virginia Day,” tells Pat Cross, adding, “So I thought I’d represent our official State flower in my new oil painting titled Budding Rhododendron.”
The Rhododendron boasts brilliant blooms with large, richly green leaves that serve to complement the rosy hues in bud and bloom. “I chose to show both the bud and bloom to reveal the stages of the flower from birth to maturity,” tells Pat Cross, adding, “which encourages with a sense of new beginnings.”
