Pat Cross Art Received First Place in the Great Escape juried exhibit.

The Parkersburg Art Center (PAC) announces its current show, Great Escape, a collection of new artworks by artists living within the 100-mile radius of the PAC including Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Artworks encompass a broad variety of 2 and 3D genre such as painting, drawing, etching, collage, sculpture, turned wood, blown glass, fired clay, woven textiles, and more. The juror and judge for this exhibit is Alison Helm, Sculptor, and the Director of the WVU School of Art and Design.

The show Great Escape opens with a Reception and Awards Ceremony Friday, July 16, 2021 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The artworks by Pat Cross displaying in the show include those from her floral, landscape and figurative series. “The past two years presented certain challenges that threatened my art career,” says Pat Cross, “but such pressure both forged my resolve and fueled my creativity.” Her displayed paintings and drawings reflect this impact. She also recalls the many ways that the support of others helped to build a bridge over the imposed abyss. “I’m more convinced than ever that we genuinely need each other to survive and thrive as artists, or in any other vocational practice,” says Pat Cross. This is yet another reason why relationships rate a top priority in our lives.
