Pat Cross Art Exhibit at Town of Eleanor 90th Anniversary Celebration
The Town of Eleanor invited Pat Cross to display her art based on people enjoying the outdoors in this charming and active Appalachian town.
This series of paintings and drawings by Pat Cross each show a way that folks engage the outdoors here, thanks to the infrastructure provided by the Town of Eleanor.
The Town of Eleanor was designed decades ago to encourage an active lifestyle and community connections. “It’s the primary reason why I chose to move here,” says Pat Cross, who can be seen peddling her bicycle with a brown package strapped to it on her way to ship art at the local Post Office.
The influence of Eleanor Roosevelt’s own active lifestyle and value of community connections can be seen today. With ample sidewalks, paved streets, parks and hiking trails, citizens of the town may freely walk, run, peddle, scooter, hike or even ride gold carts, to do errands or visit friends.
We also have access to a bird sanctuary along the Kanawha River,” says Pat Cross, adding, “which inspired me to paint “Our Bird Sanctuary” and “Blue Heron Pitstop” both of which will exhibit during the Town of Eleanor 90th Anniversary Celebration.
The Celebration kicks off on Friday, August 15th and continues through Saturday, August 16, 2025.
