“Whether it’s a natural, biological instinct or the welcome thaw from winter blues, I notice more couples this time of year,” says Pat Cross. Well, Spring brings many reasons for lovers to take their togetherness outdoors, such as the sight of blooming fruit trees or the fresh fragrance of flowers. “Even the birds provide entertainment,” adds Pat Cross with a smirk, “as they strut, preen, or chase each other in mating rivalry.”

Spring invites fresh, new life as the season that represents lively growth and novel pursuits.

Whatever the reason to indulge the season, Pat Cross felt compelled to paint a narrative of lovers relaxing together on a park bench to indulge the Spring spectacle reflected on the still waters.
