New Art by Pat Cross Sold in Appalachian Artistry Exhibit at Tamarack Marketplace

The new oil painting by Pat Cross titled Artful Angling reached a new collector during the juried exhibit Appalachian Artistry at Tamarack Marketplace.

“My years of trout fishing with family exposed me to some of the most extraordinarily beautiful mountain streams,” says Pat Cross, adding, “These adventures etch in my memory and lure me into my art studio to convey those experiences with paint.”

As any avid angler will attest, much artistry accompanies the science of the outdoor sport, such as imagining the flow of water beneath the surface of the waves. Also, keen observational skills come into play while spotting trout and studying the behavior of the elusive creature that tends to retreat under the shadow of a river boulder, fallen tree, or clump of vegetation. For many anglers, the art and craft of tying flies, handmaking lures and experimenting with various ways to cast the bait to ride a current all come into play for this most satisfying experience of fishing.
