Jurors Select Pat Cross Art into West Virginia Inspired Exhibit.
This exhibition opens Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. with an awards ceremony and reception at the Culture Center and will be displayed through mid-May 2025.
Inspired - A West Virginia Series of Juried Exhibitions is a four-part series in honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, highlighting visual representations of West Virginia themes. This exhibit features the wildlife that graces our Appalachian landscape. Jurors selected original artworks based on merit of relevancy, creativity and fine craftsmanship.
The original oil painting by Pat Cross titled Blue Heron Pit Stop juried into the show and tells a visual story of this magnificent bird. Here, a blue heron perches on a grassy crest from its flight and appears larger than life to the woman peering through binoculars. The oil painting mounts into a custom frame that accentuates the hues in the piece and is wired, ready to hang in a buyer’s home, office or anywhere as a reminder to pause and take in the wonders of our natural world.
