Jurors Select Pat Cross Art into Vividly Chromatic Exhibit
Jurors select Pat Cross Art into Vividly Chromatic, an exhibit now showing at the David L. Dickirson Fine Art Gallery in Tamarack. A feast for the eyes, Vividly Chromatic celebrates a full range of visual expression on a broad spectrum of color, shape, texture, line and perspective.
In this exhibit, artworks from 53 individual artists comprise the show and bring an impressive array of artistic genres such as paintings, drawings, woven textiles, stained glass, metal sculpture, fired clay and more.
The oil paintings of Pat Cross selected to exhibit include Himalayan Blue Poppy and Red Volunteer, each from her floral series. “I chose to enter these two paintings because I painted them side by side as a way to explore the complimentary color relationships between them,” says Pat Cross. She explains, “The deep cool blues of the Himalayan poppy juxtaposed to the radiantly warm reds of the Red Volunteer daylily cause each other to pop and glow even more, not unlike the way certain temperaments of people do as couples, peers or friends.”
Himalayan Blue Poppy and Red Volunteer oil paintings by Pat Cross are now available for purchase individually or as a set by contacting the Gallery via email, gallery@tamarackwv.com, or phone at (304) 256-6843, ext 157.
Vividly Chromatic is hosted by the David L. Dickirson Fine Art Gallery at Tamarack and available free to the public from June 20 through August 2, 2020 at One Tamarack Park, Beckley, WV 25081.
