An ancient tide carves deeply into layers of earth through seasons, years and centuries to reveal the molten bedrock below. The salty waves bend and curl around the rocks, creating new lines and shapes with each thrust and withdrawal of the tide.
In this painting, the artist layered glazes of oil paint to add luminescence to the colors. Some areas are carefully blended while others are applied with a painting knife to set in contrast the rich texture.
Painted on a deep, gallery wrap canvas, the image flows around the 1.5" deep edge and adds more dimension to the piece. It is custom framed in a solid wood frame that reveals those edges while protecting the painting. It is wired and ready to hang anywhere you want the refreshment of an ancient rhythm of earth-carving waters.
