Artist Bio

Raised in the bosom of the Appalachians, Pat Cross relished the captivating images of festive fall hardwoods, mysterious fog curtains and sensual river boulders. Due to her mother's science interest and her father's frequent outdoor excursions with the family, Pat's artistic eye and curious mind received plenty of opportunities to develop.

Seemingly plagued by restlessness, Pat’s curiosity and hunger for geographic variety spurned a journey across America. Her thirsty eyes drank in some of our nation’s most stunning images — neon green pastures of Tennessee, lush swamps of the Deep South, sculpted rock gardens of the Dakotas, and grandiose granite gods of Utah—before settling in the Pacific Northwest.

Since her first college-level figure drawing class at age 15 (by internationally-renown Hank Keiling) to more recent studies in Oregon (with nationally-awarded painters Lance Hunter, Bob Rohm and Richard McKinley), Pat portrays the complex language spoken by the physical world to the eye.
